Design

Logitech MX Master 3 vs Logitech MX Anywhere 3 6

Logitech MX Master 3- is available on the market in two color versions – gray and graphite. The design has been quite noticeably refreshed, although it is difficult to talk about a revolution here. Especially that a similar stylistic procedure was decided not only on the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 model but also on the Logitech MX Vertical – characteristically undulating makes the shape a bit more attractive and improves the grip.

Logitech MX Master 3 vs Logitech MX Anywhere 3 2

Logitech began to use completely different materials. Interestingly, the mouse is made in an extremely different convention than Logitech MX Anywhere 3 . Almost the entire body is made of a matte, rubberized material that is very pleasant to hold. However, it is not “velvety,” but a bit rougher. This improves the grip – the hand does not slip on the mouse to control it quite comfortably.

However, attention is drawn to the manufacturer’s decision to use a different material to make the mouse buttons themselves. Maybe it is a good decision from the usability side, but visually, it takes away a lot from the reviewed model. The buttons themselves stand out quite clearly from the rest of the device – they are different to the touch and reflect light differently and have a slightly different color. Interestingly, a similar procedure was used in the case of the MX Master 2S model. Still, the fit of the materials was much better, and the difference was much less noticeable.

Logitech MX Master 3 still looks great after more than a month; there is no tendency to collect our hands or other dirt traces. The joints between the materials are either located in natural places or made perfectly, so you can not have any objections to the finish of this model.

The steel feeling that the wheels give us definitely reminds us of a top-shelf rodent in our hands and gives the device a bit of luxurious elegance.

Looking at the bottom of the mice, we can see slippers, of course, drawing mercilessly. As in the case of the Anywhere family, the fact that in the “3” generation, the sliders’ surface is smaller than in the “2s” generation. You cannot feel any difference from the functional side.

Logitech MX Master 3 vs Logitech MX Anywhere 3 1

Logitech MX Anywhere 3- is available in three color variants – pale gray, graphite, and pink. Logitech MX Anywhere 3 is, as intended, a small mouse, symmetrical and not well suited to the hand – anyway, it is difficult to use it in a grip other than a fingertip grip. Therefore, it cannot be treated as an ergonomic mouse.

The design has been slightly refreshed, and the characteristic triangles have been replaced by … a rubber wave? The mouse is pleasant to hold in hand, and this profiling improves the grip, but the style of its predecessor (not only because of the color). Nevertheless, the overall impression of the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 design is subtle?

The manufacturer gave up the characteristic frames surrounding the device and opted for something much more uniform, although there are silver inserts here and there. Anyway, see for yourself how Logitech MX Anywhere 3 looks compared to its predecessor.

Let us draw your attention to the fact that the plastic is a bit different – more matte and slightly rubberized. Not even fully rubberized, but more… delicate, velvety? It is hard to put into words, but this subtle change is worth noting as a plus.

The plastic looks very good, and it hardly collects fingerprints at all – the color, unfortunately, makes all dirt particles visible at once. The metal mouse wheel adds the premium feel – not only is it good to use, but for some reason, the feeling of steel cold always reminds us that we use a top-shelf mouse.

After a few weeks, basically, the only element that shows any signs of wear are the sliders. In fact, these did not hurt too much, but I noticed that they are much smaller than those used in the MX Anywhere 2S model. The mouse, however, has a perfect glide on almost any surface, so it is difficult to treat it as a trick – rather a comparative observation.

Software

The Logitech Options + software itself is still in beta, and not all functions are implemented. A list of those that are missing from the “regular” Logitech Options, you can find here – but the manufacturer himself assures that they will appear over time.

Options + has been visually refreshed – interestingly, the manufacturer offers both a light and a dark theme. Logitech Options has always been famous for these models. The mouse offers us all kinds of gestures that we trigger by default after pressing the thumb support; we can also use Logitech Flow, i.e., operating several computers simultaneously.

Conclusion!

Logitech MX Master 3- If you do not currently have a functional mouse or it breaks down, it is better to reach for the MX Master 3 model because it does not lack its predecessor, and it adds a lot of new ones. However, if you have the MX Master 2s model, then… feelings gallop towards the ambivalent ones.

Honestly – if the MagSpeed wheel offered this functionality, which in the case of the MX Anywhere 3 model, the accumulation of advantages would make me recommend a change with a clear conscience.

It’s not that the MX Master 3 adds any flaw – what is it? Not. Refreshed design, slightly better build quality, USB Type-C socket instead of micro-USB, still better mouse wheel.

Logitech MX Anywhere 3- After all, it cannot deny that MX Anywhere 3 is a certain evolution from its predecessor. The design has been refreshed a bit (or for the better – disputable issues), the plastic used seems to be a bit nicer, the whole thing is better balanced, the micro USB socket has been replaced with a newer USB Type C (finally!), And the wheel has become a very modern and gadget creation. There was a small disadvantage in exchange for all these advantages – the inability to tilt the mouse wheel for many can be painful.

All the nice evolutions (and one step back) make it difficult to judge the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 differently than the Logitech MX Anywhere 2s model. Both mice are slightly different, but as a rule, we are dealing with a newer, slightly improved evolution of an excellent model.
