Huawei MatePad T8 tablet comes with the impressive build quality. The body doesn’t feel like plastic and the screen bezels are reasonably slim for a low-cost panel. There is a slim camera bump but it doesn’t have that wobbly feel when you laid the tablet flat on the table.
Samsung Tablet comes in black and gray, which has a wider bezel around the screen, there are no physical buttons underneath the screen anymore and there’s no fingerprint scanner either. While we get a metal back the frame of the tablet is made of plastic. The build quality is good enough you can’t bend it and it seems well-made but because of the plastic frame.

Powering the Matepad T8 is an Octa-core Mediatek MT8768 SOC supported by 2GB of RAM and 32 Gigs of expandable storage. It supports 4G connectivity and dual-band Wi-Fi ac which by all means isn’t a bad entry-level hardware package. The tablet comes with Android 10 with Huawei’s EMUI software. Using the tablet to browse the web and read ebooks the performance has so far been satisfactory all thanks to the lightweight software experience. The tablet can do some lightweight gaming but really wouldn’t recommend it as the graphics power isn’t up to the bar.
Samsung uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 32-Gigabyte internal storage. In benchmark comparisons, the Galaxy Tab A is faster in Antutu. So the performance is not great but well in the benchmarks, it is the kind of place where it’s priced.

The Matepad T8 tablet comes with a 5-megapixel rear camera with autofocus which is sometimes convenient for scanning documents. The image quality is mediocre which is expected by which it had a better front-facing camera for making video calls. On Galaxy Tab A 8.0 there’s an 8-megapixel camera on the back and the selfie shooter has a resolution of 2 megapixels again for this price both cameras are good enough.

Wish Huawei had given a tablet a USB-C port instead of micro USB but glad the good old headphone jack is still present. The tablet comes with a mono loudspeaker that fires sound through the top. It doesn’t sound extraordinary but it is sufficient for casual music playback.
On the top of Galaxy Tab A 8.0, there’s a standard headphone jack and there is a USB port on the bottom, next to that Micro USB port are two stereo speakers. Considering its price so quality is not bad at all pretty decent actually however because both speakers are placed on the same side you won’t hear any real stereo separation when watching movies.

With a 5100 mAh battery, the Matepad T8 tablet has no issues lasting a full day with 8 hours of screen on time but if you not pushing it too hard you will usually charge it every three days. With that kind of battery life, you might actually forget to charge it sometimes and it takes around 2 hours to fully charge.
So at once in standard battery test, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 lasted 13.5 hours for this was looping the same HD video at medium brightness. This is pretty, the battery life was pretty good in real life too. You will have to charge it every two days or so but that’s not the case if you try to replace your phone with the LTE version.

Wish we’d get a Full HD screen a better processor and features like a fingerprint sensor but that would mean it wouldn’t be this cheap. The price Samsung is asking for is okay that’s where it’s placed in benchmark comparison to many aspects like its speakers, cameras and performance are pretty good for its price. But it’s important to note that this is most certainly not a premium device.
