If you were looking for a good performance headset for your Sony console (PlayStation) or all your other devices, look no further. The SteelSeries Arctis 7P + Wireless has been specially designed for it.
The package includes the following items:
- USB adapter (this is a Type-C adapter)
- Audio cable (for switching to an analog 3.5 mm jack from a digital one, which is rare)
- Adapter cable from USB-A to USB-C (it allows you to connect the device to a computer)
- Micro-USB cable (for charging)
- User guide
- Warranty card
The company aimed to create a lightweight headset that allows you to forget about its existence in a couple of minutes and not be distracted by constant corrections or adjustments of the headphones. The design of the earbuds is thought to ensure an even distribution of weight. But it is impossible to confidently assert that the Arctis 7 turned out to be light. However, it should be remembered that the headset is equipped with a Bluetooth transmitter and a large battery that ensures long-term operation.

Design
The design of this headset is relatively classic and looks like all the other headset in the Arctis range from SteelSeries, with some pretty cool subtleties nonetheless. Remember that this is a Playstation edition, so it has white, black, and blue shades to remind you of the Sony console.
The Arctis Prime, the range’s design is quite sober and very accentuated on the curves. Indeed, on the side of the ear cups, the shape is oval with on both, the SteelSeries logo in black, which stands out quite well on the helmet’s white, it is rather discreet. You will find the Sidetone adjustment wheel on the right ear cup. There is also the ignition button.
On the left ear cup, which is visually the same as the right, you will find a USB Type-C charging port, a 3.5 mm jack port, the volume wheel, and the microphone mute button. Right in front of you will have a retractable microphone.
In terms of foams, they are made of fairly good quality black fabrics, with the center in light and electric blue fabric to recall the colors of the PlayStation 5, everything is quite comfortable.
On the headset handling side, you will have an adjustment elastic in black with the SteelSeries logo in white on one of its sides superimposed on the white plastic part of very good quality. Just below, there is a fairly well integrated blue rubber band.
Removable hoops hold the two ear cups at 45 degrees to store the headset; however, there is no possibility of adjusting the height; everything happens via the elastic. It is quite impractical, but everything is the same forecast at the level of the settings.
In terms of comfort, it is rather pleasant to wear; we note that it tightens slightly at the level of the ears. On the other hand, the comfort band on the top of the head is good and adjustable thanks to the elastic. This headset is more comfortable than the Arctis Prime. Overall it is comfortable.
Only after a long time, a slight pressure of the bow becomes perceptible, although not too strong. The Arctis 7P headphones can be worn for 7-8 hours without interruption or discomfort. What is strange, although they weigh more than many competitors – they seem light as a feather. This is most likely due to the custom stretch headband from SteelSeries.
The headband has a frame of metal arcs inside and an adjustable Velcro strap. Getting it right the first time can be tricky, but you won’t have to change it once it’s properly fitted. The velcro is attached very securely, so even when using headphones, you never get the feeling that it can unfasten.
Connectivity
An important feature of the SteelSeries Arctis 7P is the support for 3D audio on the PS5 console. It feels like this technology is different from the 7.1 surround sound. But, during the game, you can easily confuse, not understand – whether the car sirens are howling in virtuality or outside the windows of your house. The effect is amazing and incredibly lively.
Like other manufacturers’ headphones, the Arctis 7P supports the SteelSeries Engine customization app. Here you can adjust the sound through the equalizer, adjust the dynamic range compression or microphone modes. You can also set a period after which the headphones turn off after going into an inactive state.
The SteelSeries Arctis 7P case has plenty of physical control keys. You can change the volume and tonal balance using the corresponding wheels and activate the microphone or headphones using the buttons.
The wheels provide more precise and convenient adjustment than the conventional up or down keys. The microphone here smoothly retracts into the body, and whether it is active, you can find out using the LED indicator located here.
Playing PS5 games like Spider-Man:Â Miles Morales with the Arctis 7P is a real treat. Flying between the skyscrapers of New York and walking the streets of Harlem is more immersive. It is incredibly noticeable how the directional sound of the set elements is combined with various aspects of the soundtrack at certain points in the game.
The preinstalled Astro’s Playroom perfectly demonstrates the SteelSeries Arctis 7P’s available technologies. They do a great job of superimposing and enhancing directional sound. It is one of the best PS5 headsets right now; just remember to use a USB-C adapter.
Sound
The design of a headset is one thing, but performance is a big deal and the selling point of a headset for most people. This SteelSeries Arctis 7P+ offers a good experience in the game, its favourite area, nevertheless it is not bad at all in music listening, even if it is not exceptional either.
The mids are quite good, the highs sometimes a little screaming and naturally pronounced bass due to its gaming orientation, even if it is not too much, and this is very good like that. Don’t expect exceptional quality, but it’s already very good for that price, especially for playing video games.
This headset works thanks to Lossless 2.4 GHz Wireless, like recent mice, which allows for reduced latency and less loss than with Bluetooth. This offers the possibility of being able to enjoy your game fully. You will have to use the 2.4 GHz dongle provided in the box.
This headset works very well, the latency has been reduced, and you don’t have to bother with cables and software; it is perfectly plugged and play which is its big advantage besides its pleasant sound.
Microphone quality:Â As for the microphone, it is rather basic; however, it is certified by Discord to detect noise in your environment; after some tests, indeed, it works quite well. In addition, the voice is heard distinctly without saturation, which is more than enough for its use.
The regrettable point is to be raised. Compared to other headset from SteelSeries like the classic Arctis 7, it is impossible to configure anything with the SteelSeries Engine software; it is a plug helmet. And play is intended for consoles; it is certainly an advantage of compatibility, but all the same regrettable on the merits.
Battery Life
On the battery side, it’s good; SteelSeries promises 30 hours, which seems to be the case in reality. Indeed you will be able to benefit from multiple long sessions of games without problems of autonomy.
The headset connects to 2.4 GHz, which consumes more than Bluetooth. In addition, you can recharge it in USB Type-C, so no need for a multitude of cables lying around; it’s perfect.
Conclusion!
The SteelSeries Arctis 7P + Wireless headset is a good wireless headset for gaming; it has the big advantage of perfectly plugging and playing and taking advantage of 2.4 GHz technology. The sound quality is quite good and is more than enough for console gaming. The microphone is good quality and perfect for chatting in-game sessions or on Discord with your friends.
