Design

Headphones Sennheiser HD 400 PRO look stylish attractive. This is a classic design of the 5xx line, which has now moved to the professional series. Tested over the years but in a modern interpretation. The headset is broad, completely plastic. They appear to be non-removable. Oval bowls, low profile. Thanks to this, the headphones on the head look neat and simply beautiful. The base of the bowls is plastic, the nets on the outside are metal. The connector for connecting the wire is deep; the plug does not stick out and does not interfere. Available only in black.

The all-plastic construction keeps the weight down, but a metal shackle would give more assurance of durability. However, the plastic here is of high quality, not fragile.

The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 headphones themselves are big . Very big. And heavy. They weigh about 650 grams and protrude very far on the sides when worn. “Ocheburashivat” notably. The earpads here are very deep and wide. And the bowls are huge and D-shaped. However, this is not surprising because 4 speakers are hidden in each bowl: one 40 mm and three 30 mm. Plastic earcups with only black color available. There is one small light zone on the outside of each earcup, which is very pleasing. The headphones do not glow like a Christmas tree, but the backlight gives a specific accent. Although, in my opinion, it would be possible to do without it. The bowls are held on curved plastic mounts. They rotate around the horizontal axis but not around the vertical one. It is not comfortable to wear them around the neck.

The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 headset is plastic with a metal headset. The size is adjustable; there is a soft fabric lining. The design is reliable; the assembly is high quality, there is nothing to complain about. The design seems pretty good to me. Not gray, but not flashy either. Average. However, judge for yourself from the photo.

Comfort

The Sennheiser HD 400 PRO are comfortable headphones, no doubt about it. The weight is small – here, the plastic construction is a plus. The ear cushions are soft; the cups are wide and deep enough to fit any ears. Although huge ones may touch the inner surface, they will not be pressed down. The cups rotate slightly for a more precise fit.

The only problem is that they can be cramped for people with a larger than average head size. Downforce can be too big for them, and the headphones will tire faster.

The Asus ROG Theta 7.1 are comfortable headphones. The weight is distributed very well; the headphones do not press on the sides and do not put pressure on the top of the head. One can spend 2-3 hours in these headphones without any discomfort. But sooner or later, the weight begins to be felt. The fabric ear cushions are very soft, the ventilation is good. Yes, and the ears are free inside: they do not touch the edges or the bottom.

In earpads with leatherette, ventilation is slightly worse, but this is not something that you immediately notice. And you can sit in them for about the same amount.

Sound

The sound of the Sennheiser HD 400 PRO is excellent. It is detailed, natural, and quite smooth, emphasizing highs. The presentation is light, a little bright, but no frills. At the same time, the sound is not dull and not dry, as you might expect from headphones that the manufacturer calls professional. There is no pronounced emotionality and any actual color either. The emphasis on highs draws out many of the nuances of the recording, which is helpful in working with sound. But while listening to music, not everyone may like it.

Technologies. The emitters are dynamic; the diaphragm is made of modern polymeric material. It is installed at an angle to the ear, coupled with an open design; it provides good authenticity: naturalness and scene. There are no unique technologies that everyone likes to brag about now.
