Samsung Galaxy M51 must be the most powerful phone by Samsung but the big question here is, Can it be better than One Plus Nord? Let’s get an answer to this question in this post.
Samsung has nailed quite new expects in M51, unfortunately, the design isn’t one of them. To be considered, when you have a battery of 7000mAh battery in a phone, it’s got to be a bit bulky and so it is. It is over than 200gm in weight, it has a hefty in-hand feel. Whereas One Plus Nord feels a bit sleeker. Even though it uses Corning Gorilla Glass on both sides in front as well as back. It still is of only 184gms. One Plus Nord feels very light and premium. It also comes in a nicer looking finish, not to be forgotten added alert slider and day to day water resistance.

If we talk about displays, we have full HD plus AMOLED panels on both devices. The Galaxy M51 has more screen real estate. Thanks to the big 6.7-inch infinity O panel. But the biggest drawback is that it’s just 60 hertz. Wherein contrast in Nord we have a small 6.44-inch AMOLED panel but it supports higher, that is 90 hertz of refresh rate here. So not just the content looks just as good as in any other AMOLED panel out in there. But also is smoother if we talk about day to day uses. If we talk about judging the phone considering their display. We’ll go with One Plus Nord. Although the AMOLED panel in M51 is pretty greater.
Performance
Galaxy M51 | OnePlus Nord
Processor | Octa core 2.3 GHz | Octa Core (2.96 GHz) |

If we get to talk about the internals, there’s snapdragon 765G inside OnePlus Nord going up against snapdragon 730G in Samsung M51. To be fair though, it’s not that noticeable in day to day tasks but the higher refresh rate means everything on the Nord feels just that much faster. When it comes to the demanding games, the Adreno 620 GPU combined with 180 touch sampling rate offers a snappier performance across. Now, it’s again Nord over M51 just because a high refresh rate with great touch response gives a tangible difference to be noticed.
Camera
Galaxy M51 | OnePlus Nord
Rear | 48MP + 12MP + 5MP + 5MP | 48 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP + 2 MP |
Front | 32 MP | 32 +8 MP |
Video recording | 3840×2160 @ 30 fps, 1920×1080 @ 60 fps | 4K@30FPS |
Both of these phones have a quad-camera setup in the back. But they’re quite different. Let’s take primarily for example. We have 48 megapixels Sony IMX 586 sensor on the Nord coupled with an optically stabilized f1.75 lens. On the other side, we get 64 megapixels Sony IMX 682 sensor paired with an f1.8 lens on the M51.
Talking about the front camera both these devices have 32-megapixel Sony IMX 616 sensors for the primary selfie. Pictures captured from the selfie camera looks pretty similar in most of the parts. One plus here has an extra trick up its sleeve thanks to the secondary 8-megapixel ultra-wide shooter.
When it comes to videos, both these devices can shoot at 4K, even details levels are great. But the addition of optical image stabilization on OnePlus leads to a bit more stable footage. Samsung still maintains those bright colors.
When it comes to cameras both Phones have their own pros and cons. But overall, Samsung Galaxy M51 has something which can impress you can win in this round.
Multimedia
Galaxy M51 | OnePlus Nord
Headphone jack | No | No |
Loudspeaker | Yes | Yes |
FM Radio | Yes | No |
Talking about loudspeakers no complaints in both the devices. That concludes the additional future-proofing through 5G connectivity combined with an alert slider and day to day water resistance on The Nord. This tells the scale a little bit in favor of it.
Battery Life
Galaxy M51 | OnePlus Nord
Capacity | 7000 mAh | 4115 mAh |
Type | Li-ion | Li-ion |
Quick Charging | – | Yes |
User Replaceable | No | No |
Usb Typec | Yes | Yes |
When it comes to the battery life, the 7000 mAh battery inside Samsung Galaxy M51 simply dwarfs the 4115 mAh battery in One Plus Nord. So we could say, M51 crushes Nord when it comes to battery life. As far as Charging is concerned, Warp charger 30T in Nord is quite better than the 25 Watt fast charger in Samsung Galaxy M51. After all difference in capacity makes a huge difference in overall charging times. Not just Watt and it’s Obvious that M51 wins this round. One more thing to be mentioned about M51 is reverse back charging in M51.
Connectivity
| Galaxy M51 | OnePlus Nord |

The M51 comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and it is faster compared to the under-display unit on the OnePlus Nord. Nord though comes right back with a faster face unlock. One of the great advantages of M51 is that it comes with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. This is one of those things which Nord lacks.
Which is better!
If you want a premium look and feel, with a better processor a higher refresh rate screen 5G capabilities, a cleaner OS and you’re okay with the Optics on the Nord. Then we would say it’s definitely Nord is a better buy Compared to the Samsung Galaxy M51. It’s not because M51 is a bad phone, It’s actually the first time when Samsung has released a fairly powerful mid-range phone. But then, we don’t see most people getting that much out of the huge battery or the slightly improved still photography.
