We are more and more familiar with realme, a high-tech product from China, but mainly smartphones. First, however, the manufacturer must develop its other smartphone accessories, as do its competitors.
Realme recently unveiled new accessories. That’s when the realme Buds Q, True Wireless Bluetooth headphones, came out. The brand aims to sell devices as cheaply as possible to satisfy all users through a wide range of products.
Here is the realme Buds Q2, the second version of these headphones. As with the first version, the manufacturer wants to offer headphones at the best possible price/quality ratio. Although we had noted some improvement points on the first realme Buds Q of the name, let’s see what has been fixed with these realme Buds Q2. Check out Realme Buds Q2 vs Realme Buds Q: Which TWS is Best.

Realme Buds Q2
In terms of aesthetics, the presentation changes very little. However, we received the blue version of the headphones. These are available in two versions, a black version and another blue, quite clear, which reminded us of the back of the realme 7i. This time is well adjusted between the two parts, the main part and the cover. realme has made some efforts at the manufacturing level.
Inside, we find the realme Buds Q2 headphones, with their imitation diamond or carbon surface, which is original. Of course, it is only an imitation, but the effect is quite well worked, giving them a little more aestheticism. The headphones are still in the smallest that exist on the market but not yellow here elsewhere; only the cable is this color.
The case also incorporates the design created by José Levy, a designer in the world of fashion. The case of the realme Buds Q2 still takes the shape of a beach pebble from which the first names were inspired.
If the overall build quality has been improved, the connector is still a Micro USB. realme did not want to switch to USB-C to charge its entry-level Bluetooth headphones. Regarding wireless charging, it is not available on this model either.
Realme Buds Q
The realme Buds Q are True Wireless in-ear headphones. This means that no wire is involved in their connection between them as well as with the smartphone. The only wire that can exist connects to the box and recharges everything. This differs from the wireless headphones of the 2015s, where a wire still linked the two headphones to accommodate the battery and the volume control buttons.
These headphones are among the smallest on the market. As can be seen, these are in-ear. They arrive in a simple and pretty box, yellow, like all the brand’s boxes. Their case is a little oval in shape, like a pebble, to hold it correctly. It allows you to store the headphones when you are not using them but especially recharge them.
As for the realme Buds Q, they are in-ear headphones, so we have different tips available. A pair is already installed on the headphones, but it is possible to change them for larger or smaller tips if you want to fit them perfectly to your ears. So much for the purely practical part.Â
However, if the design is well thought out and the brand has paid for a renowned designer, a few small adjustments could have been made better between the two parts of the storage case. Therefore, it will be necessary to be careful not to drop it and pay close attention to it. If this is not necessarily seen, we quickly feel small flaws when we take the case in hand. However, we can only welcome the original design of the headphones, which changes AirPods, Enco Free, or other Magic Earbuds.
Comfort
For in-ear headphones, comfort is all the more important when they are in your ears. Realme Buds Q2 are good once in the ears, as long as you choose the tips that best suit your ear size.
If you take them that are too large, the headphones will not hold properly. In addition, they put themselves facing upwards in the ears. Not necessarily for everyone, but the Realme Buds Q2 are designed to fit the shape of the ears.
Regarding the Realme Buds Q, they are indeed in-ear, no doubt about it. The different tips allow the earphones to be adjusted to your ears and provide additional comfort. From a general point of view, these headphones are pleasant in the ears.

Realme Buds Q2
Before putting the headphones in your ears, you must connect them to a smartphone. On Android and particularly at realme, the realme Link application is available. However, the procedure to follow on all smartphones is to press both simultaneously while leaving them in their box. Thus, in the settings of your smartphone, they will be recognized. Then, you have to select them.
One advantage of the realme Buds Q2 headphones is that they offer passive noise reduction, as they are in-ear. This reduces ambient noise but without consuming additional battery. We also note that this noise reduction is optimized with the tips you put in your ears. Although several sizes of tips are provided, it’s up to you to choose the one that suits you best.
The headphones have improved and now only offer a latency of 88 ms against 119 at the screen. It still seems high, but thanks to the game mode, we manage to obtain such a value, which is actually very interesting. However, if it promises better reproduction of sound in real-time compared to the image, this mode tends to draw a little more on the battery.
The sound from the headphones is good. However, it is important to have the right sizes of ear tips to put in your ears. It is a little more dynamic than before, and we see more bass than in the previous version, even though it is quite light as an evolution. For the price, it remains that the realme Buds Q2 are very good; they indeed offer a sound quality similar to Apple’s EarPods but without any wires.
AAC and SBC codecs are compatible. It is, therefore, possible to listen to your music with your iPhone on Apple Music with higher quality. On the other hand, smartphones’ Qualcomm processor and apt-X codec will not be thrilled; the codec is not supported on these headphones.
The microphone is not bad. However, the headphones don’t really point the latter towards your mouth, as the Buds Air Pro can. The microphone is good for calls in quiet surroundings, such as your home. However, we regret that putting a plate in the dishwasher or other small actions, sometimes a little noisy, are real tests for the ears of your interlocutor.
Indeed, the realme Buds Q2 is equipped with noise reduction technology for the headphones. However, the latter works best when you are already in a fairly noisy environment.
Realme Buds Q
Before putting them in your ears, you must connect these headphones to your smartphone. The headphones connect quite quickly. To do this, you have to press the R logo for a few seconds and select the headphones in the settings of your smartphone as soon as they are recognized. Once in your ears, headphones provide passive noise isolation. They are in-ear, so they have this advantage over classic EarPods, for example. This helps reduce ambient noise, but not too much either. The goal is to optimize listening without ANC noise reduction.
Without active noise reduction, you get used to it very well, especially with the passive noise reduction offered by the realme Buds Q. However, the brand advertises a latency of 119 ms, which seems high. realme assures us that the latency is the same as wired headsets … Which we have some doubts about, especially for certain models, but okay. The latency is very low, and it is not the 4 seconds of my car either with its Bluetooth 2.1.
As for the sound quality itself, the sound is good, nothing more. It is not the most dynamic that we have experienced, but neither is it totally flat, which would be really annoying when listening to music. We will have liked a little more bass if the sound is good and balanced between bass, treble, and mids. When it hits a little harder, and the rhythm makes you want to dance a little bit, you know. It is not dramatic either, given the price, we will be satisfied with the sound quality that we have.
As for the compatible codecs, to benefit from a slightly improved sound quality, only AAC and SBC codecs are compatible. Therefore, you can enjoy your Realme Buds Q with Apple Music or on your iPhone 30 times more expensive than these headphones. Isn’t life beautiful? More seriously, even if these are entry-level headphones and not expensive, we would at least have expected apt-X support to go with the Snapdragon of the majority of the brand’s smartphones.
If the sound is pretty good, the microphone is not the best there is. Already by its position, as the headphones do not have an arm that goes down like AirPods or Honor X1 TWS, sold much cheaper elsewhere, the microphone picks up the sounds emanating from your mouth a little less well. In addition, the material used is not of the best quality. It’s normal when you see the price of headphones; you can’t expect miracles unless there is a wolf somewhere. Fortunately, there is none, and it is much better that way.
The microphone can be sufficient for simple calls in a fairly quiet environment. However, if you are in a noisy place such as the metro, train station, airport, or first-year amphitheater of college, you will not be heard really well, and it will quickly be unpleasant for the person you are talking to.

The realme Buds Q2 offers up to 20 hours of music listening with a single charge, either according to the manufacturer, 10 films, or 400 titles. What is true is that they hold a load well; indeed, we measured even a little over 20 hours of listening possible, with the volume at around 35%.
As for calls, on the other hand, the duration is much less, with around 16 hours at best. We also note that the headphones allow you to listen to about 5 hours of music with a single charge. The box is recharged in micro-USB and not in USB-C. It takes about 2h30 to recharge the box and the headphones. It takes nearly 1h45 to see them fully charged for the latter alone due to the charging speed, which decreases over the minutes.
However, we can be satisfied to enjoy 2 hours of listening after only 10 minutes of charging!
The Realme Buds Q battery life is 4h30 in music listening and 3h in the call. Except that again, it’s in theory. We do not know how realme managed to obtain such results…
In reality, we struggled to reach 4 hours in music listening, yet at a reasonable and comfortable volume. Likewise, on appeal, it was a bit more than 2h30 that we managed to reach, but the headphones were asking for their charging box.
However, the box that charges the headphones can allow you up to 20 hours of music listening, according to the brand’s statements. If we start from the data we obtained with our tests, this is not necessarily true, but on paper, the autonomy remains correct.

Conclusion!
Realme Buds Q2
This second version of the realme Buds Q is good. The small imperfections that could exist have been corrected in part, the other part remains, but you should know that these headphones are not really expensive. They, therefore, cannot be perfect. So we are not in a position to expect what can be expected from top-of-the-range models. So we can conclude by saying that the realme Buds Q2 are perfect entry-level headphones.
If you want good headphones compatible with an Android app and the AAC codec, you make the right choice with the realme Buds Q2. However, we also note that the price of these is an important element in the choice that will lead you to buy them.
Realme Buds Q
Despite their few imperfections, it’s hard not to appreciate these Realme Q Buds. However, realme seems to do a lot for good $ 30 headphones. They are not AirPods as we know, but the brand praises them just like. These headphones are good; the sound is pleasant for entry-level headphones, they are comfortable and offer several features, especially in their touch settings.
The realme Buds Q are undeniably good True Wireless Bluetooth headphones. With an almost unbeatable price, they succeed the bet of realme: to seduce the small budgets or those who do not need expensive and very powerful headphones. Their battery life is good, their price desirable, and the sound quality they deliver pleasant—a perfect compromise.
