The Chinese manufacturer Huawei is best known for its smartphones, but it is now also courting the attention of gamers with the Mateview GT monitor. Huawei pays special attention to the base because it houses a soundbar with RGB lighting. At the same time, more and more companies are pushing in that come from other segments, including MSI, Gigabyte, or Xiaomi.
The Mateview GT from Huawei stands out from the crowd with an integrated soundbar, among other things. We’ll tell you what the gaming TFT is good for.
The Huawei MateView GT costs less than 600 $. At this fair price, you get a good overall monitor. The image quality is average for a gaming monitor in all areas, including brightness, color space coverage, contrast, and viewing angle stability. In return, you get a curved, 34-inch screen in an ultra-wide 21:9 format with a high refresh rate of 165 Hz. Nvidia graphics cards in the PC benefit from a dynamic refresh rate via G-Sync. The resolution is 3,440 x 1,440 pixels.

GIGABYTE is one of the leading manufacturers of motherboards, graphics cards, and other key PC components. The G-series gaming monitors feature high refresh rates, responsiveness, and gaming technology. Models in this family make esports features accessible to fans.
The Gigabyte G34WQC is the largest G-series gaming monitor to date. This is a 34″ curved monitor based on a VA panel with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a refresh rate of 144 Hz (by the way, it has the lowest refresh rate in the series).Â
With aspect ratios of 21:9 and above can replace two displays at once. They are suitable for both games and for work in which you need to open several windows at once. They are designed for office workers, digital content creators, and gamers who want a big, immersive screen.

Design
The Mateview GT’s “gaming” DNA. Huawei decided to offer a sober monitor, not too bulky and suitable for the essentials. The first noteworthy point is the metal stand, which is somewhat atypical for a product of this category. It is relatively thin, holds the screen well, and ends with a protrusion topped with a strange cylinder. The stand is nothing more than a built-in speaker (2x5W) replacing the in-screen speakers, often having poor sound quality.
This speaker provides fairly accurate sound reproduction with good power but does not replace a “real” soundbar system.
The design of the screen and, above all, to the presence of a “touch” volume control system. With a simple gesture of your finger, you can increase or decrease the volume and add the ability to display RGB lighting. This is the only “game fantasy” on this screen.
GigaByte G34WQC- The design uses two types of black plastic. But on the primary side, we see only elements with a matte surface, which is good for us.
The 1500R panel curvature for 34″ diagonal is the optimal solution for one sitting in front of the monitor. In this case, the maximum immersion in the game world is achieved since the sides bend to match the viewing angle of peripheral vision. In its vertical part, there is a hole for laying connected cables.
Control of monitor parameters is carried out using a single joystick button. In the case of this model, the possibility of using the software to configure the monitor is not provided.
Screen adjustment is available in tilt and height. The minimum angle is minus 5°, which at the maximum size looks like this:
The back panel is assembled from several components. The main part (bottom) is made of durable matte plastic, and the upper part is also made of durable but glossy plastic. The design is simple yet modern. Moreover, this is not a “bench” solution for exhibitions. There are no decorative lighting elements.
Conclusion!
The Huawei MateView GT impresses with its extras – above all, the stereo soundbar integrated into the base. The screen also offers exciting features for action-packed multiplayer games and has a USB-C port with docking qualities. The image quality of the 34-inch, curved one is not bad compared to the equipment without highlights, but it is not bad in any area either. The device entirely does without an energy-saving mode or other eco-functions.
GIGABYTE G34WQC is an elegant monitor. For 450 USD, the user receives a solid gaming monitor with an ultra-wide 144-Hz panel. Of course, he is not a champion in terms of performance and has some drawbacks, but he looks attractive against the background of competitors. Among the advantages, we note high resolution, real HDR, a remarkably nimble matrix, a pleasant and ascetic design. Want to upgrade, but 4K gaming isn’t your thing yet? Take a closer look at the G34WQC; there are no alternatives for that kind of money.
