When I try to update Discord on my PC, “UPDATE FAILED” is displayed, and the update may fail.
In addition, there are cases where Discord is still in the updated state and the process does not end, or there are cases where the update cannot be completed, and a loop occurs.

Therefore, make sure that your PC can connect to the Internet normally. To determine if you have an internet connection, use your browser to access the website and see if it looks good.
If you’re having trouble connecting your PC to the Internet, try restarting your PC and network devices such as routers.
Once you’ve resolved your PC’s internet connection issue, run a Discord update to see if it works.
Method 7: Check for Discord failure
It is possible that the update fails and loops due to a failure of Discord’s update server.
Therefore, check if the Discord server has failed. Discord failures can be found on the official page below.
If the Discord server has a failure, the user cannot handle it, so please wait for the recovery work on the Discord side. After the failure is recovered, please try the update again.
Method 8: Disable VPN and proxies
There may be a case where Discord cannot be updated normally and loops because the PC is connected to the VPN or the proxy server is set.
