You’re late for your meeting, right? Don’t worry, the Zoom video conferencing app will call you when it’s time to order. The Californian platform has a setting that lets you get reminders sent to your email address. For example, if you’ve set up a meeting with your coworkers, you’ll get an email when one of them shows up.
A simple but important way to learn how to use all of Zoom’s features on Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS.
Enable notification when someone joins a Zoom meeting.
- Open your browser and go to the Zoom website. At the top right of the home page, click on “My account.” You are taken to your profile page, which has a control panel.
- Then click on ” Settings” in the left column of your profile page.
- Scroll to the “Email Notifications” section at the bottom of the page and click on “join before host” By default, this option is turned off. You have to check this box to change your preferences. You can turn off these alerts whenever you want.
It is important to note that you cannot enable similar functionality if you are not the meeting organiser.
- To conclude, a few words about Zoom notifications. It is important to note that you can activate Zoom’s “chime” function, which allows you to receive a sound notification when someone joins a meeting.
This type of notification (chime or email) is only available on desktop versions of the Zoom application. Zoom has implemented settings for instant messaging on the iPad, Android or iOS tablet and smartphone, but very little for video calls. You can, for example, choose to receive alerts for replies to followed messages, all messages, or set up exceptions based on the channels. All of this is accessible from the application’s advanced settings, in the “Chat” tab. This type of setting is not available in Zoom’s web browser versions (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and others).
It is also possible to receive sound notifications for instant messaging from the desktop application (excluding meetings, therefore). On the home page of your application, click the ” Settings” icon, then on ” Chat“. At the bottom of the page, you can select the type of alarm you want (audible, silent, or based on keywords). Enable the “Do Not Disturb” option to schedule when Zoom notifications are turned off on your machine. These options are also accessible through your web browser, such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, or others.
