Corsair HS75 XB Wireless vs Razer BlackShark V2

Gaming Headsets: Corsair HS75 XB Wireless vs Razer BlackShark V2

The Corsair HS75 XB Wireless are wireless headphones that have Dolby Atmos surround sound. They are specifically designed to work with the Xbox but can be used on PC through the Microsoft adapter. They are also made with quality components, have an excellent finish and function is impeccable, but after a good gaming session, they are not particularly comfortable. The BlackShark V2 are much more attractive than its first version and come to mark a before and after in the design of Razer headset. Balanced sound, a good microphone and very comfortable. They comply with the key aspects.

The HS75 XB Wireless are wireless headphones that have been designed to work on the Xbox and have Dolby Atmos surround sound.

The market for low-end gaming headsets is quite competitive, and Razer hasn’t been at the top for the past few years. In our list, we do not usually recommend them as our main options, but perhaps the BlackShark V2 are the first since they are presented as an excellent option for 120 USD.

The HS75 XB Wireless use 50mm neodymium speakers very similar, or the same, as other models of the brand. Their most interesting specs are that they have a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz and a sensitivity of 111dB. They are certainly not impressive specifications but more than enough to enjoy a sound with good power and without distortions.

The microphone in this model is removable, as opposed to the V2X, the cheaper version. What’s not removable is the built-in SpeedFlex cable, which is a disappointment in this price range.

You will also like to know that they are compatible with all consoles, as well as with your mobile if it still has an audio jack. However, remember that only on the PC can you have all the benefits of Razer Synapse.

The soundproofing of these headphones is not the best, but even so when you start playing with a volume higher than 40%, you will not hear anything else other than the game. Now, if what worries you is that the audio is not heard outside.

If you have seen some of the reviews of other Corsair headphones, these may give you a feeling of Deja-Vu. And it is not for less because they are exactly the same as other headphones in the HS range but with changing colors.

The controls built into the headphones which are also very similar to the previous Corsair HS. In the left pavilion we have: the microphone connector, the USB-C charging port, a button to activate the microphone and a  volume wheel with an integrated button. And in the right pavilion, we have the power button and a wheel for the balance between game and chat.

The BlackShark V2 are simply beautiful headphones, with black color and small shades of green that give it a quite elegant look. However, there are still many areas where they can improve. The ear cushions are thick, comfortable and even the interior has padding that will prevent your ears from touching the plastic of the speakers.

The construction of the helmets, more precisely the plastic used, does seem a bit cheap to me. Surely Razer defends this decision saying that they have done it to make them very light. As far as controls are concerned, we have just two that are on the left headset: the microphone mute button and a volume wheel.

These headphones make use of the exclusive Xbox protocol so they connect as if they were a remote control or any other accessory. You just have to press the association button on the console, turn on the headphones and in a few seconds we have them working.

After that you just have to install the Dolby Atmos application in the Xbox Store and surround sound will be configured automatically. From the Dolby Atmos application, we can also change the behaviour of the surround sound or create our own equalizers.

The BlackShark V2 comes with a removable microphone that is cardioid, which means it will pick up more of the sounds just ahead, that is, your mouth. It is also adjustable and comes with a coating to avoid any type of small interference and also reduce the “Pop”.

Which is better!

Corsair HS75

To conclude, the HS75 XB Wireless are great wireless headsets for Xbox that have to surround sound. In addition to that, they are built with good quality materials and have an excellent finish in all details. But unfortunately, they are far from perfect as their sound seems shallow and they are not particularly comfortable after a long time wearing them. Charging the battery fully will not take us more than 2 hours and then you can enjoy up to 20 hours of battery life.

Razer BlackShark

The Razer BlackShark V2 mark a before and after in the design of Razer gaming helmets, but they still need to improve some aspects to be considered the best in this price range. The audio cable should be removable, the materials used for the helmets somewhat more premium and its price a little lower.
