EPOS Sennheiser GSP 602 vs EPOS H3

EPOS | Sennheiser GSP 602 vs EPOS H3: Affordable Gaming Headset

Sennheiser’s range of audio products is born out of 70 years dedicated to addressing the demands of meticulous studio engineers and demanding musicians. The best gaming headphone market is in a good spot today and doesn’t feel half as sophisticated as it did five years ago. Still, when a primarily professional audio company shares its perspective on how things should be done, it doesn’t. Can avoid listening.

People still talk about the open-back GAME ONE even though they insist on designing it in all caps, and it has been around since God was a child. The GSP 300 and GSP 670 also have a great reputation, only putting people off with their underpowered mics and high prices, respectively. Where do the EPOS Sennheiser GSP 602 and EPOS H3 fit into this and the broader field of Sennheiser gaming headsets?

EPOS Sennheiser GSP 602

The GSP 602s are in the middle of the EPOS-Sennheiser line. Technically, they are not a new model; GSP 602 is more of a color variant that is available in a blue/orange combination rather than the GSP 601 (white/black) or the GSP 600 (black/red). Therefore, the descriptions in this review also apply to the mentioned models.

Weighing in at 358 grams, the GSP 602 feels like a premium product. The headband is made of thick gray plastic with a comfortable memory foam pad.

Two adjustable arms made of dark blue plastic allow you to expand the headphones’ size; these pieces are attached to the headphones with thick metal arms that allow for slight rotation.

Each headset is the same dark blue color as the adjustable arms, with the interior covered in an orange suede-like material on memory foam.

On the right ear cup, you will find the volume dial. It’s thicker and heavier than you might expect, which makes adjusting the volume a bit tricky.

On the other side, the left ear cup houses the non-removable boom mic. The GSP 602s lacks a mute button because the microphone can be muted by positioning it vertically. Finally, there is a 3.5mm socket for the supplied cables.

Once you position the GSP 602s on your head, you will understand why EPOS calls it an acoustic closed gaming headset. The headphones are generally not heavy, but the headphones have a firm grip on the sides of the head. This means that all outside noise is completely muffled.

The usability experience offered by the GSP 602 is absolutely comfortable, although not out of the ordinary. With these headphones, you won’t hear bright, hissing sounds like virtual surround sound, leaving you with a fairly standard plug-and-play experience.

EPOS H3

The gaming headset features a closed design with large, soft ear cushions. They create good acoustics and just as well isolate you from extraneous sounds. This will allow you to play not only in complete silence, but also in a noisy environment, without being distracted by what is happening around.

It is located on the right shell of the headphones and allows you to adjust the sound volume whenever you need it. Therefore, it will be convenient for you to control the sound even in the most stressful situations when you need to listen carefully to anticipate your opponents’ further actions.

The EPOS H3 rim uses durable stainless steel sliders. They have a simple length measurement system and a travel stop to adjust the headphones for a comfortable fit quickly. Plus, both of the fixed shells of the headset are at a certain angle, making it suitable for users with different face shapes.

The Plug-and-play system helps you quickly connect headphones and literally start playing right away without installing any additional applications. As for the choice of the platform, here, the EPOS developers did their best. The H3 headset is compatible with many platforms, including computers, modern game consoles, and softphones.
