Dell Alienware AW3418DW
In terms of design, this monitor looks very good and the design is very nit and clean. The curve very enhances the viewing and gaming experience. The material mainly used here is so-called plastic. But the build quality is very good and durable. The stand comes with it is very sturdy and tall enough for adjustment. For an adjustment we’re getting pretty much everything that we need with hard adjustment up to 130 millimeters tilt and also swivel it’s also incredibly well built and is very sturdy it stays planted on your desk and you’re not going to get any screen wobble at all when typing even when purposely trying to get it to wobble the display was extremely rigid.
Acer Predator X34P
The panel is a more aggressive curve it moves from 3600r to 1900r many of you are not a massive fan of curved displays. But the X34 is so wide that the increased curvature actually improves the experience. With the new 1900 art curve, the edges are just slightly more in your field of view which we like to think helps you gun down foes more easily in games. We guess the truth is it is probably just as mediocre as before. But you know we’ve got a fancy new monitor to look at the design it’s received an overhaul that basically fixes every problem we had with the original X34. The annoying glossy plastic has been nuked in favor of plastic with a faux brushed metal finish. While all other plastic has received a subtle upgrade to a more classy design that better suits this monitor. A very high price tag unfortunately the chin along the bottom remains. Though this is likely a byproduct of how the panel itself is designed the good news for slim bezel fans are the bezels have also shrunk marginally with the X34 P moving from 13 mils to 10 mils on most sides. This is in neat though minor upgrade the stand has become more versatile as well now supporting a greater range of height adjustment along with a new swivel support stand is a bit uglier from the rear, as a result, the added flexibility is certainly a nice bonus.

Dell Alienware AW3418DW
It is the ultimate gaming monitor and let me show you why this monitor possesses the trifecta of specifications with a high resolution of 3440 by 1440 a high refresh rate of 100 Hertz which is overclockable up to 120 Hertz. Through the menu and a beautiful IPS panel often monitors will do one of these things very well and be fairly average. In the other two that this monitor hits the sweet spot for all three the curve is a little bit more aggressive to what we’ve seen from an Asus or Acer coming in at 1900 R. But you will notice this to be much more comfortable to use than those it’s curved enough to improve gaming and workstation viewing angles. But not so much that it’s going to affect critical photo and video editing we’re also getting Nvidia G-Sync which matches the frame rate from your GPU to your monitor’s refresh rate. So that we won’t get any screen tearing when gaming and everything just look buttery smooth.
Acer Predator X34P
This is a new panel in the X34 it retains the same 34-inch size and 3440 by 1440 resolution as the original X34. But it now comes with a 100-hertz refresh rate as standard with the ability to easily overclock up to 120 Hertz. Previously the X34 cam is a 60 Hertz monitor with a 100 Hertz overclock though some buyers couldn’t hit a 100 Hertz table tutor flickering the X34 pieces solves this entirely. It offers native 100 Hertz with that nice boost up to 120 Hertz in most cases. Most other display specs are the same IPS technology 300 nits maximum brightness is one thousand to one native contrast ratio for millisecond greater glare response times 100 percent sRGB coverage and of course chasing support power consumption is apparently the same.

Dell Alienware AW3418DW
The Dell Alienware comes with one 1.4 HDMI port and a 1.2 DisplayPort. For USB options it provides four type-A and one type-B USB port. But it won’t come with an HDCP port. So in terms of connectivity, it gets all essential options and you won’t struggle in terms of connectivity options. For audio output, it gets a 3.5mm headphone jack. However, it won’t get any inbuilt speaker set up so need to buy a separate speaker set up for this monitor.
Acer Predator X34P
With Acer Predator you will get one 1.4 HDMI port and one 1.2 DisplayPort which is pretty similar to the Dell monitor. Also for USB connectivity options, it gets 4 type-A USB ports and 1 type-B USB port. It does come with the HDCP port which is a good addition. The main thing is that it gets an inbuilt speaker set up and gets two speakers of 7 watts. The quality of speakers is quite good if compares it with the other monitors that are come with the inbuilt speakers in the market.Â
Power
Dell Alienware AW3418DW | Acer Predator X34P | |
Power On | 120-230VAC,50/60Hz | 100-240VAC,50/60Hz |
Power Supply | External | External |
From the above table, you can observe that both of these monitors are required nearly the same power when on power-on mode, the Dell monitor requires 120-230VAC,50/60Hz and on the other hand the Acer Predator X34P requires 100-240VAC,50/60Hz with the power on mode. Both of them needed an external type of power supply.
Which is better!
Both of these monitors are very identical in terms of design and specs But when it comes to the refresh rate which is the main reason that you’re looking at these two monitors. The X34 predator tops out at 100 Hertz whereas the Alienware 3418 DW tops out at 120. Both monitors are extensively made for gaming capped at their maximum refresh rate.
We can honestly report that the Alienware is noticeably smoother than the X34 predators. We’ll say it again but the only way that we can really explain this to you guys is that the X34 predator is almost there in terms of a buttery smooth experience. Whereas the 120 Hertz on the Alienware leaves you not thinking about the refresh rate at all. Because it’s so immersive and smooth and we feel like when it really comes down to it.
We can talk about the thinner bezels the better OSD and other nuances but the higher refresh rate on the Alienware is really what’s going to pull you in its direction.
