Tarting with the Huawei MatePad Pro, MatePad Pro is a 10.8-inch tablet that if it hasn’t changed much from its Chinese version weighs around 460 grams like the similarly sized iPad pro. It’s got a gorgeous magnesium alloy frame with curved corners, and while most standard colors dark blue and white in person they’re both stylish premium tablets. There will be dark forest green and afterglow orange options too, both with vegan leather back panels. The cellular and Wi-Fi antenna all molded directly to that tablet frame meaning there are no visible antenna lines, there’s also an 8-megapixel hole-punch camera on the front for conference calls more than selfies and that’s mirrored location-wise by a rear-facing 13-megapixel camera with a 90 % screen to body ratio.
The MatePad Pro has a very thin bezel around the screen 49 millimetres, that’s far smaller than the iPad pros border which measures over 80 mm. It helps to elevate the looks of this thing iPad baiting aside the screen itself is the view right up to 540 nets with 2560 by 1600 resolution high enough to split up tasks and apps on screen without making things tiny or blurry.
Now talking about the MI Pad 4 Plus, On the top of the right of the camera to the left is an ambient light sensor, and you can see that it does have a matte anti-glare screen protector on it out of the box on the back, there’s a metal unibody and we do have the camera that does protrude by about a millimeter. It’s 13 megapixels and using an application called open camera you can shoot in 4k so this backplate here this is plastic the rest is alloy. You can just make out there a tiny microphone that’s used for video so it does record in stereo a 3.5-millimeter headphone jack that outputs a very clean loud audio. On the upper left-hand side, you will find a sim tray so it’s one nano-SIM and a micro SD card and it does have a middle frame around it and overall it feels good. The build quality of this tablet is excellent well apart from the buttons on the right-hand side so the volume rocker and in the power on button just like the MI paired 8-inch version that we’ve had for they rattle around a little so that is a minor complaint there. Along the bottom, you will find another microphone to downwards fraying loudspeakers type-c ports and two Torx screws secure the rear housing into place making it a little stronger.
In weight-wise it comes in to be 488 grams making it 144 grams heavier than the smaller 8-inch version now when you take a look at the bezels they are slimmer on the left and right top and bottom yes we still have a bit of bezel here but overall it’s quite a good look compared to your typical Chinese 10.1-inch tablet they would have large bezels.

Starting with the MatePad Pro, it comes with the company’s own Kirin 990 processor, which includes the modem needed for 5g connections it means there’s plenty of processing power even if in these days of no Google Play there isn’t much of note to push mobile devices to their limits. So about that app problem, the company says there are now over a thousand apps supported on its devices, but spokespeople wouldn’t be drawn to announcing the whereabouts of go-to mobile apps like uber which is still missing on Huawei phones. If an app isn’t on Hawaii’s own App Store it means to move into things like Amazon’s App Store. When it comes to the software a new app multiplier feature is the standout idea allowing you to run two versions of several core apps including the web browser in a landscape arrangement. The proportion of the screen dedicated to each app can be adjusted, though the whole feature was pretty buggy. The MatePad Pro into an impressive mobile work machine, but if you want to consume media, play games, do stuff beyond web browsing, the MatePad Pro doesn’t look like it can satisfy those urges.
Now talking about Mi Pad 4 Plus, In terms of performance, it is very good the touch accuracy the touch time the response really good and with a bit of multitasking, their performance is fine. There are some stutter animation lag is when you’re in the full-screen gestures but full-screen gestures do work well it’s just when you unlock sometimes you see a little bit of stutter. Performance is very smooth the scrolling and again the input from your touch the fingers really good. The RAM and processor are very good for heavy multitasking yes it will start to get a little slower. The performance is all good I haven’t really seen it bogged down unlike the Helio X 22 X 23 and even the X 27 tablets you may have looked at they tend to bog down when you’re in the split-screen mode they get a little bit laggy but this does not compare to the MediaTek chipsets there’s Qualcomm snapdragon 660 really does fly and is just so much faster.
Camera
MatePad Pro | Mi Pad 4 Plus
Rear | 13 MP | 13 MP |
Front | 8 MP | 5 MP |
Video recording | HDR | HDR |
MatePad Pro gets a 13 MP rear camera and an 8 MP front camera. The camera quality of the rear 13 MP camera is very good but as far as the front camera you can use it for video calling and other stuff also because front camera performance is also good. On the other hand, the Mi Pad 4 Plus comes with a 13 MP which has similar good quality as of MatePad but its front camera of 5 MP is not that great you may just use it for video calling and virtual conferences.
Multimedia
MatePad Pro | Mi Pad 4 Plus
Headphone jack | USB Type-C | Yes 3.5 mm |
Loudspeaker | Yes, with stereo speakers | Yes with stereo speakers |
FM Radio | No | No |
Talking about audio quality both devices have Stereo Speakers and these speakers work brilliantly and give you a clean and clear sound. Mi Pad 4 Plus comes with a 3.5mm of the headphone jack for other multi-media connectivity. But with MatePad Pro you will get an option of a USB Type-C type of headphone jack which can be inconvenient for some users.
Battery Life
MatePad Pro | Mi Pad 4 Plus

Type | Non-removable Li-Po | Non-removable Li-Po |
Quick Charging | Fast charging 40W Fast wireless charging 15W | Fast charging 10W |
User Replaceable | No | No |
MatePad Pro comes with a 7250 mAh LI-Poly battery, and the company claimed this battery can be last up to 2 days after heavy use. It also gets the features of fast charging and wireless charging which seems great at this price point. On the other hand, the Mi Pad 4 Plus gets a huge 8620 mAh battery which returns you a claimed battery life of 20 hours and it also gets the option of fast charging but unfortunately didn’t get the option of wireless charging.
Connectivity
| MatePad Pro | Mi Pad 4 Plus |
SIM | Nano-SIM | Nano-SIM |
Bluetooth | 5.1 | 5.0, A2DP, LE |
Wifi | Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac | 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac |
Sensors | Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope | Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass |
Both devices support sim insertion for the inbuilt network connection. The MatePad Pro works with Bluetooth version 5.1 whereas the Mi Pad 4 Plus works with Bluetooth 5.0. Also, both devices get a host of sensors like Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass, Gyroscope and they all work brilliantly.
Both devices have a fairly big price difference so it is very up to your budget and likeliness. Both devices offer a host of features and good performance and also great battery life. But the performance of the Huawei MatePad Pro is far better than Mi Pad 4 Plus. So we suggest that if you the budget to buy a premium tablet with good performance and a host of features then you should go for the Huawei MatePad Pro.
