One plus8 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus are two of the biggest flagships in 2020 and actually have quite a lot in common so we are going to be comparing these two phones. Design-wise both phones are very similar both are quad HD 120 Hertz screens and both look incredible. Samsung is actually known for its great screens but in this case, the OnePlus just looks great. The colors seem punchier it goes a little bit brighter and impressive screen. Another advantage from the OnePlus is it actually does 120 Hertz Quad HD whereas with the Samsung you do have to choose between 60 Hertz Quad HD or 120 Hertz normal HD. Running both of them as 120 Hertz Quad HD could run down your battery life quite a bit.

The differentiating factor here is the GPU Qualcomm Adreno 650 on the OnePlus 8 Pro is stronger than the Exynos MalliG77. We can see that in PubG itself where at HD detail the OnePlus improves supports the extreme framerate option well the S20 plus can only go up to ultra.

Both phones have four rear cameras the primary on the s20 plus is 12 megapixels with an optically stabilized F 1.8 lens. On the 8 Pro, we get a 48 megapixel Sony IMX689 again with an optically stabilized depth 1.8 lens.
They do differ in their approach to the cameras on the back. Samsung actually has the camera module here on the corner of the phone whereas the OnePlus goes for putting the camera module in the middle of the phone. The OnePlus 8 pro is already slightly thicker than the Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus but then the huge camera module actually makes it even thicker.
Cameras on the back are working at Quad camera setup. Both of them doing it slightly differently. Looking at these first shots using the wide-angle cameras on both phones you start seeing there’s not a huge amount of difference at least in the processing. OnePlus goes for a more contrast you look whereas Samsung goes for a flattering look. The S20 plus also adds slightly more saturation. The wide-angle camera on the OnePlus seems slightly sharper.

We have dual stereo speakers on both phones. The S20 Plus stereo effect is little better it also has an advantage with USB technology USB 3.0 compared to USB 3.1 on the OnePlus.

Which is better!
- The S20 Plus comes with Exynos 9 chip which theoretically is not as powerful as the snapdragon 865 on the 8 Pro but with day-to-day tasks neither phone has a performance issue.
- The memory front we have 8 Gigabyte of RAM coupled with 128 Gigabyte of UFS 3.0 storage on both phones however with the OnePlus pro we have a higher 12/256 option that and the stronger GPU gives the OnePlus 8 pro an edge with specs.
- There’s 5G connectivity on the OnePlus 8 Pro the S20 Plus does not have that it is not a big deal at the moment but it is at least on paper an advantage.
- The OnePlus 8 Pro starts at $900 well the S20 plus is priced 300 dollars higher at $1,200.
