Meta Introduces New Privacy Features: Now You Have More Control

Meta Introduces New Privacy Features: Meta just rolled out new privacy features for its two major platforms, Instagram and Facebook. Now, users have more control over their data and privacy settings. A post on the official Meta blog details all these exciting changes.

We finally have a choice

The highlight of these new features is the “Activity Off-Meta Technologies” tab. This tab lets you manage how Instagram and Facebook track your activity on other apps and websites. If you prefer, you can stop these Meta apps from knowing which apps you use and which websites you visit. You even have the power to block certain third-party apps and erase all the data collected till now.

People have often criticized Meta, the company led by Mark Zuckerberg, for tracking user activity. They use this data to show personalized ads in their apps. However, with some push from European authorities among others, Meta is starting to let users have more say over their data.

That’s not all; Meta has made other improvements too. They’ve expanded the “Transfer Your Information” feature, making it simpler to move your data to other sites and apps. For instance, now you can effortlessly print an Instagram photo album using tools from other companies.

Moreover, Meta has made it easier to access your profile data on both Instagram and Facebook through the Account Center. Here, you can view and download your personal information all in one place.
