The build and design is the first step, now when it comes to the overall design both phones are nearly identical from the front side. You get that boxy professional note specific design that most people adore. On the rear, things are a little different, the Note 20 ultra does have a huge camera bump while the note 10 plus comes with a flat and flush surface but overall they’re both stunning. Note 20 takes a slight lead in build quality it now uses Gorilla Glass 7 for its glass construction while the Note 10 uses Gorilla Glass 6. So the Note 20 is going to be slightly more durable but nothing dramatic and no reason to upgrade. Both smartphones are IP68 grade water-resistant. We have a slight lead for Note 20 because of better build quality otherwise they’re both designed expertly and feel like a million dollars in hand.

Now let’s move on to the processor, memory, and storage. Note 20 has a powerful Snapdragon 865 plus processor with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage on the base model. While the Note 10 has a Snapdragon 855 processor 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage on the base model. Both smartphones offer MicroSD expansion to add even more storage if needed. When it comes to performance the Note 20 certainly is going to be faster as it has the latest processor but the Note 10 is no slouch and still handles everything like a champion. So the Note 20 does take a lead here but we also have to deduct a few points as it does offer less base storage of 128 GB versus Note the 20s 256 GB on the base model. Also, one more thing although Note 20 has 5G capability and Note 10 does not.
Let’s move on and talk about the dimensions the Note 20 Ultra is slightly larger overall and heavier. Note 10 does offer a slimmer and lighter profile overall. Let’s move on to something much more important, the display the Note 20 Ultra has a gorgeous 6.9 inch dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3088 and 1440 and 496 pixels per inches. While the Note 10 also has a gorgeous 6.8 inch dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3040 by 1440 with 498 pixels per inches. Both smartphones support HDR 10 plus. When it comes to the quality of these displays, both offer a top-notch display experience.
The note 20 does have a new feature which does give it a lead, the Note 20 now offers a 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate which makes animations and motions feel silky smooth. It feels more polished than 60 Hz displays on Note 10. Moving on and talking about the actual software both smartphones run on the latest version of Android with a new one UI overlay. so essentially the software experience is going to be identical on both smartphones. Note 20 ultra does have the slightly newer one UI 2.5 while the Note 10 plus runs one Ui 2.1 there’s no huge difference between the two and it’s only a matter of time.

The note 20 ultra has a triple camera system a 108-megapixel main camera a 12-megapixel super wide-angle camera and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera. Whereas, Note 10 Plus has a QUAD camera system a 16-megapixel main camera 12 megapixels super wide and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera, and also a fourth depth vision camera which is negligible for the purposes of this comparison as it doesn’t do anything special. The main three cameras on both smartphones offer excellent image quality. When it comes to video note 20 takes a lead. It has higher capabilities and can record in 8k, while the Note 10 can do 4k and 1080p. Both phones also offer super steady video stabilization which will give you excellent quality video as you move around and record. The bottom line Note 20 Ultra has the latest hardware, the better camera but it’s like comparing one awesome camera with a slightly more awesome camera that’s all.

Let’s talk about the battery and some battery features. The Note 10 plus has a 4300 mAh battery capacity while the Note 20 Ultra has a battery capacity of 4500 mAh. Interestingly both phones have a similar overall battery life they both also support 25 WATT fast wired charging and wireless charging. Interestingly only the Note 10 plus offers the ultra-fast 45 WATT charging, Note 20 is limited to 25 WATT fast charging. Both phones offer the wireless power share feature which will allow you to charge other wireless devices on the back of your device. So this category is a draw or maybe even a slight lead for the Note 10 but nothing special.

Which is better!
The Note 20 Ultra is a better smartphone with the latest hardware. But here’s the big question are the changes on the note 20 Ultra dramatic enough to warrant an upgrade? The answer to that question is simply no. Note 20 is still in its prime with a top-quality crystal clear display although lacking 120 hertz when it comes to its main feature the S-pen, it offers a nearly identical experience in terms of software features and the S-pen remote control features.
When it comes to the battery still a full day of battery life. When it comes to performance still handles any task effortlessly the camera is still a flagship quality camera and both Note 20 and Note 10 have many common denominators such as wireless charging reverse wireless charging excellent build and design, water-resistance, and such.
So let’s be honest the only reason you would want to upgrade from a Note 10 to the Note 20 is if you simply just have to have the latest and the greatest or maybe features like 120 Hz is simply too important to let go and you are willing to take a financial loss. Because remember you’ll be spending a lot of money on Note 20. If that’s the case that’s fine but most people will not need to upgrade from a Note 10 to Note 20.
