The earphone, charging case, earpiece for resizing, and USB cable for charging is included. The earphone body has an M-size earpiece, and S and L-size earpieces are attached, so it is possible to adjust the fit finely. Earpieces are included only in silicone, so if you like urethane earpieces, you need to purchase an external product.

Design

The Asus ROG Cetra True Wireless Gaming In Ear Headphone is a great option for those who want to experience great sound without having to deal with any wires. With its design and sound quality, this headphone is perfect for gaming or any other activity that requires good audio.

The charging case is rounded and feels much more compact than other companies’ TWS cases. It is also lightweight and has excellent portability. TWS cases from other companies are often relatively large, so we found this compact case convenient.

The earphone body has a front housing that combines the good points of the canal and inner ear types. If anything, it is classified as a canal type, but it does not have a shape that sticks into the ear hole like other canal types, and it has a slightly lighter wearing feeling that it is not just hooked like an inner ear. It is a feature.

As a result, it was an easy-to-use earphone that did not get tired even after being used for a long time, had a good fit, and provided appropriate sound insulation.

Audio Quality

ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless features 10mm ASUS Essence neodymium drivers. The range of supported frequencies is standard – from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. Each earpiece has several omnidirectional microphones with a sensitivity of -38 dB. The frequency range of the microphone is 100 Hz – 10 kHz.

It is about sound quality, which is required when talking about earphones. As for the sound quality of “ROG CETRA TRUE WIRELESS“, it is possible to produce rich sound in the mid-high range and powerful bass by adopting the original tuning “10mm ASUS Essence driver” and a highly airtight chamber. Is it? I want to ask how this feature makes a difference compared to other earphones.

Microphone

A good microphone is an important factor that needs to be checked because communication is one of the most important aspects of games, particularly competitive ones.

It has noise cancellation for its microphone by default in addition to the Active Noise Cancellation for its speakers. Your voice will be crystal clear and audible even in noisy environments thanks to the simple removal of background noise between 50 and 60 dB.

Software and Apps

The Bluetooth wireless headset syncs seamlessly with ASUS Armory Crate software. The device is synced and fully configured, and pairing is a breeze by adding a new Bluetooth device. It didn’t work out right away because I didn’t immediately understand that both earbuds turned on independently.

The battery charge is shown here; you can adjust the volume of the sound or mute it for a while. Below is an item with optimizations. It has several presets to get a specific sound picture in different tasks.

In addition, there is an equalizer, and many classic presets for different types of music.

And finally, there is a bass boost. The emphasis is shifting towards the lower frequencies, but I didn’t notice any powerful bass like on Sony.

The noise reduction effect works similar to that found on similar devices. It is clear that software algorithms and presets carry all this out.

Controls

pairing and controls The ROG logo mark on the earphone has a built-in touch sensor, and you can switch between “play/stop”, “ANC on/off”, “gaming mode on/off”, etc., by touching this.

Battery Life

ROG Cetra True Wireless offers up to 5.5 hours of use per charge, and the included case adds 21.5 hours of battery life, resulting in a total of 27 hours of playback. In addition, the fast charging technology allows you to use them for up to 1.5 hours with a charge of only 10 minutes. The case can be charged via USB-C or compatible wireless chargers.

Battery life is pretty modest, with ASUS rating the headphones at around 5 hours of use each; however, in my tests, I could get more than that if I kept my volume at a reasonable level. The case offers up to an additional 27 hours of charge, which means you can probably take them on a long weekend trip without having to worry about carrying a charger.

Lastly, these brand new headphones are IPX4 rated and splash resistant, so they can be used rain or shine.

Final Thoughts

It is a gaming TWS that is attractive for its high functionality and a good balance of sound quality. You can immerse yourself in various media such as ANC function with less oppressive feeling, high sound insulation performance, and low delay gaming mode.

There are some functional parts, but even if you subtract them, it is a gem that shines with a high degree of perfection as a TWS earphone. It was perfect not only for games but also for audio playback. The price is 199 USD, a price range that is easy to choose for upgrades of users using entry-class TWS, and among them, the multifunctional part can be differentiated from other products.
