When it comes to which one of these has a better screen, both of these are considered HD 1080p screens. They actually look fairly similar but then when you put the brightness at halfway the Samsung is definitely brighter and then when turned all the way down it looks like the Samsung tablet is almost completely black. Then when you’re viewing at different angles, Samsung is just a little bit easier to see. Although feel both of these screens look pretty good. We have to give a slight advantage to the Galaxy Tab A 10.1

If you feel like gaming performance is very important for you. The first question which arises to your mind is, Which one is better at gaming? You would think it would be a pretty easy win for Samsung. Fire HD 10 really has a disadvantage here since you don’t have a Google Play Store. You’re sort of limited on what games you can play right out of the box. Where on Samsung, you’re going to get some of the most popular games on the Google Play Store like Pub-G mobile and just a lot of other games that aren’t available on the Amazon App Store. Although the Fire HD 10 does do a pretty good job at the games that are available it’s just not as powerful and you don’t get as many games as on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1. So when it comes to gaming we have to give the edge to the Galaxy Tab a 10.1.
Camera
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 | Fire HD 10
Rear | 8 MP with autofocus | 2 MP with autofocus |
Front | 5 MP Primary Camera | 2 MP Primary Camera |
Video recording | 1080p @ 30fps FHD | 720p |
When it comes to which has the better cameras, we have to be honest this one’s not even close the cameras on the Samsung tablet not only worked better but you can just see so much more detail. Now neither of these cameras is going to be as good as like on your cell phone you can actually read the text on the photo. The Fire HD 10 is just a mess even the large text is really blurry and really low resolution. If you own a halfway-decent camera and that goes for the front and rear camera for photos or video then yeah you better go with the Samsung tablet.
Multimedia
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 | Fire HD 10
Headphone jack | Yes 3.5 Jack | Yes 3.5 Jack |
Speaker | Yes | Yes |
When it comes to which has the better speakers, the Fire HD 10 is definitely a little bit louder but unfortunately when you turn it all the way up it definitely sounds distorted. Whereas, when you turn the Samsung tablet all the way up it still sounds nice and clear and doesn’t really sound distorted. So, we definitely have to give the edge to the Samsung Galaxy Tab a 10.1.
Battery Life
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 | Fire HD 10
Capacity | 6150 mAh | 3830 mAh |
Type | Non-Removable Battery | Non-Removable Battery |
The battery is something that is very important for a device if you’re using it to watch something online or doing some office work. So when it comes to which one has a better battery life this one’s a pretty easy win for the Fire HD because the Samsung battery dies after streaming continuously for about 6.5 hours on full brightness. Whereas the Fire HD 10 lasted almost twice as long.

Which is better!
The last thing to talk about is which is better? the Fire HD 10 starts out at 150 USD the Galaxy Tab a 10.1 starts out at 229 USD at the normal everyday pricing. So should you pay $50 more for the classy Tab A 10.1 or not? Well unless you’re heavily invested into the Amazon ecosystem and you want to save that extra $50 towards case accessories or just pretty much anything else, but you’re going to be happier spending that extra $50 on the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 version.
