Both the Behringer HC 2000B and the HC 2000B box contain two cables in addition to the headphones themselves. On the one hand, there is an audio cable with two small jack plugs so that the Bluetooth headphones can also be wired to use when the battery is empty. Both plugs are even gold-plated to protect against corrosion. On the other hand, it is a USB charging cable that can connect the headphones’ micro-USB charging socket to a standard Type-A USB port.
Both headphones are completely black. The Behringer lettering is applied to the outside of both ear cups of the headphones. A small but subtle difference is that the lettering on the smaller HC 2000B model is gold, while the HC 2000BNC noise-canceling model is silver. The headphones are almost entirely made of plastic. They are super light and flawlessly made, but unfortunately, give off a strong plastic odor when removed from their box.

The ear cups of both headphones can be rotated and swiveled. In addition, the headphone hanger can be folded in so that it can be transported to save space. The size adjustment of the headphones is gridded, which is why they do not have to be readjusted after taking them off like that. However, the pads only just completely enclose the ears.
These models are therefore not well suited for larger ears. The ear cushions consist of a synthetic leather cover and are filled with foam without memory effect. The headband is also filled with foam. The seat is also safe due to its low weight and comfortable with its low contact pressure.

From a technical point of view, we deal with two closed headphones with a circumaural design whose 40 mm drivers are dynamically driven. Their audio frequency range actually covers the entire typical human hearing range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz. What is not insignificant when using wireless headphones are the technical values ​​of the power supply and transmission.
In terms of sound, the Behringer HC 2000B and HC 2000BNC attenuation of external noise is not particularly great for closed headphones. In addition, the external isolation is not as pronounced as with other headphones. As a result, the environment inevitably listens to loud music listening. The bass range is reproduced a little too full and exuberant for my taste. There is a lack of openness in the highs, and the presence area that is so important for the perception of voices is covered by the massive bass. However, a big plus point that I have to attribute to the headphones is that they reproduce sub-bass frequencies up to the maximum volume without any distortion. That is actually impressive.
The noise-canceling version Behringer HC 2000BNC has to be granted that the feature works really well. Noise suppression actually isolates the listener greatly from ambient noise. However, the sound of the headphones changes when the feature is switched on and off – just like it is the case with some competitive products in the budget area. Activating noise-canceling results in the bass becoming significantly tamer and more restrained.Â
The sound of the headphones’ integrated microphone is perfectly adequate for phone calls. However, the buyer shouldn’t expect too much here. The microphone has a large radiation area, which means that parts of the room’s sound and background noises are clearly picked up. The signal is strong in the middle and, therefore, assertive when making calls. Unfortunately, there are also very significant noise components here, which can be a nuisance, especially when speaking in a low voice. Anyone who does not work as a telephone advisor, but wants to make phone calls on the smartphone, which is used to listen to music via Bluetooth from time to time, should be satisfied with the quality.

The headphones are easy to use and follow the usual functions of this type of headphones. Three buttons are responsible for volume or track control and play/pause. The on/off button, microphone outlet, and a jack socket for the supply line are also located on the right earpiece.
A micro USB socket connecting the charging cable and an associated status LED is built into the left ear cup. The HC 2000BNC model differs in that the on / off button is also used to activate noise canceling. This status change is also acknowledged by info LED. With this model, the Bluetooth pairing is not implemented via the on/off button as with the HC 2000B but via the play/pause button.
Conclusion!
The Behringer HC 2000B and HC 2000BNC are inexpensive Bluetooth headphones with long running times and short charging times, which can be easily stowed away thanks to the folding mechanism and, if necessary, can also be operated by cable. For closed headphones, the isolation of their ear cups is not too pronounced. The seat of the devices is comfortable and safe. However, the small ear cups are not necessarily suitable for larger ears.
The active noise-canceling of the HC 2000BNC works great but changes the sound of the headphones. What is in principle negative, of course, is a fortuitous advantage in this case. Because the sound of the HC 2000B and the HC 2000BNC without activated noise canceling is so bass-heavy that other frequency components have a hard time. With activated noise suppression, the sound of the HC 2000BNC is excellent because it is more balanced.
Both headphones deliver strong sub-bass – completely undistorted up to their volume limit. The bottom line is that the HC 2000BNC, particularly with the activated NC feature, leaves a good impression and is convincing with its price-performance ratio.
