Mobvoi has once again added a new smartwatch with excellent features to its catalogue. He did this not long ago, with the TicWatch Pro 3, a smartwatch that we talked about at the time and that, since then, has left more than one with their mouths open since, among other things, features the new Snapdragon Wear 4100, Qualcomm’s most powerful SoC for smartwatches. We now compare this watch with the TicWatch Pro 2020, another one that was launched this year and that may in some respects cannibalize the one already mentioned, as it shares several qualities.
What we always usually highlight at the beginning of each comparison is the design of the rivals. There is not much to differentiate here; Both the TicWatch Pro 3 and TicWatch Pro 2020 consist of a circular format with few differences overall, but when we detail them more closely, we find subtle disparities in the cases and straps, although not very noticeable. Remember that the manufacturer does not usually take risks with new designs in each model, a point that is confirmed this time.

If we go to the section of the screen, here are some similarities and differences to highlight. The main thing is that both come with a double panel; In the case of the first, there is a 1.39-inch AMOLED retina and another monochrome FSTN LCD (black and white), while in the case of the second watch we have a 1.39-inch OLED with the same monochrome FSTN LCD screen of the TicWatch Pro 3. The first mentioned screen of each act as the main one and, of course, is in color; on the other hand, the second acts as the one in charge of operating when you want to extend the useful life of the battery.

In terms of performance, there is an important difference between these two smartwatches, and this is because the TicWatch Pro 3 has the Snapdragon Wear 4100, which is up to 85% more powerful than the Snapdragon Wear 3100, the one that handles empowering the TicWatch Pro 3100. However, both come with 1GB RAM, but the storage space of the former is higher, at about 8GB, compared to the 4GB offered by the 2020 model. Here It should be noted that the ROM allows the storage of files of all kinds and music for independent playback.
The connectivity options are the same on both models. Here we have support for Bluetooth 4.2 LE, 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi b / g / n, GPS with GLONASS, Galileo, Beidou and QZSS, and an NFC chip for making contactless payments through Google Pay.
For activity tracking, the TicWatch Pro 3 is better. This smartwatch, in addition to a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, compass, gyroscope and ambient light sensor, which are the only ones that the TicWatch Pro 2020 has, there is also a blood oxygen monitor (SpO2), with ambient sound and a barometer. To this, we have to add a lot of dedicated functions for tracking sports and activities such as running, cycling, swimming and outdoor leisure. Both one and the other have an IP68 grade waterproof certificate that makes them submersible.

Of course, they come with Wear OS, the operating system that Mobvoi usually relies on, and the virtual assistant Google Assistant. Only in the case of TicWatch Pro 3 is there a Spotify app integrated by default.
Regarding the prices of each one, the first has been announced with a figure of 350 USD, while the 2020 model was launched for about 300 USD. Of course, these prices may vary, depending on the current offer and the platform on which they are available.
Conclusion!
If we focus only on the characteristics and technical specifications of both smartwatches, we clearly put the TicWatch Pro 3 as a better and more complete option, for only offering more in almost all the sections already described. However, for the pocket, it turns out to be a more attractive purchase the TicWatch Pro 2020.
Still, the two are very balanced in terms of value for money, so it is a bit difficult to locate a clear winner in this comparison, which we understand very well because they are both from the same brand, which is Mobvoi.
If you are looking for a smartwatch with better performance, more autonomy and more options for activity tracking, among other things, the first one mentioned is the best. If not, the Pro 2020 is still a very good wrist terminal and a more affordable one that doesn’t waste several of the Pro 3’s best qualities.
