A few days ago, Huami launched the new Amazfit GTR 2 globally, which arrives as the generation of the original Amazfit GTR that was unveiled on the market in July 2019. This successor, as expected, has better features and technical specifications than those found in the Amazfit GTR. The first point to highlight has to do with the appearance, which has changed for the better in the Amazfit GTR 2. Here we notice a more marked stylization, with a circular bezel reduced to its maximum expression and a slightly more modern general appearance. This helps the new smartwatch look less robust, but in a good way, although the Amazfit GTR does not look very good on the wrist of any user.
In terms of displays, they both feature the same 1.39-inch AMOLED tech panel. This is protected by resistant 2.5D glass. In addition, the Always-on Display function is present in both one and the other. Of course, they are tactile and the resolution they boast of is 454 x 454 pixels.

Regarding the prices of each one, the Amazfit GTR 2 was launched with an official price of about 215 USD. The original Amazfit GTR, which came in two size versions (47 and 42 mm), on the other hand, was made official for about 150 USD, although today, among many offers, it can be found for less than 120 USD, since its price has been falling and it will continue to do so.

The new smartwatch represents a notable advance in the aesthetic section, with a screen held by practically non-existent bezels that make it look more elegant. The Amazfit GTR, for its part, is not greatly outmatched by its successor either, so it remains an option practically on par for activity tracking and other functions that we highlight throughout the comparison.
Both one and the other are two good purchase options, but the plus that the internal storage for music adds in the Amazfit GTR 2 is something to consider.
