The Huawei Watch GT 2, which was launched in September 2019, continues to be classified as one of the best advanced and sporty smartwatches that can be bought today. The same applies to the Versa 3, one of the newest Fitbit smartwatches and, together with the Sense, one of the most complete in its catalogue. For this reason, we compare it this time with the Watch GT 2, as it is a model located in the same price range and shares several of its characteristics and technical specifications, in order to determine which is better and why.
To begin with, we are facing two wrist terminals that do not share a common design. In the first instance, we have the Huawei Watch GT 2 with a circular design that varies slightly based on the two available versions of it, which are 46 and 42 mm. Then we have the Fitbit Versa 3, which has a square format.
When it comes to the technical specifications of each one, we find that the Huawei Watch GT 2 has a 1.39-inch screen (46 mm version) and 1.2 inches (42 mm). This is AMOLED, touch and full-colour. On the other hand, that of the Fitbit Versa 3 is larger, about 1.58 inches and also AMOLED technology. Here it is worth noting that the resolution of the first is higher, so it offers a higher pixel density.
In terms of memory, the Huawei smartwatch can store up to 500 songs thanks to an internal storage space of 4 GB. The Fitbit Versa 3 does not have a large ROM for music storage, but it can record health and activity data, in addition to offering music control, something that the Huawei Watch GT 2 can also do.

In the connectivity section, the Watch GT 2 is a little less complete, having options such as Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, integrated GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and Galileo. The Versa 3 only dispenses with the latter and its Bluetooth version is 5.0, but it comes with NFC for making contactless payments through Fitbit Pay.
For activity monitoring, various sensors are available on both smartwatches such as a heart rate monitor, accelerometer, gyroscope and ambient light, but something that only the Versa 3 has is the relative SpO2 sensor , which is responsible for measuring the level of oxygen saturation in the blood.
In the rest, both one and the other come with functions of tracking sports and various activities such as sleep monitoring, counter of calories burned, steps taken, distance traveled and more.
The autonomy of the Huawei Watch GT 2 is a maximum of up to 2 weeks in the 46 mm variant, while the 42 mm can offer only up to 1 week of average operation, having a smaller battery. The Fitbit Versa 3, on the other hand, can stay awake and in average use for up to 6 days, according to the manufacturer.
Other characteristics of these smartwatches is the water resistance of 5 ATM (50 ATM). However, they differ in the OS they use, as you might expect; here the Huawei Watch GT 2 boasts Lite OS, at the same time that the Versa 3 comes with Fitbit OS. Another thing is that the second comes with the Google Assistant, while the Huawei smartwatch does not offer any voice assistant.

Which is better!
Being brief, in general terms, the Huawei Watch GT 2 is slightly better, although this is relative since the Fitbit Versa 3 has significant advantages that we cannot ignore such as NFC connectivity for making contactless payments and the Assistant Google.
The Watch GT 2, on the other hand, comes with music storage (up to 500 songs). Actually, one smartwatch or the other may be better for you based on your needs. What you need more and what you can do without are the questions you have to ask yourself before choosing the Huawei Watch GT 2 or Fitbit Versa 3.
