During CES 2021, HP unveiled the new Elite Folio convertible laptop. The 13.5-inch device can work in tablet mode thanks to a touch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels, or as a laptop, for which you can use a special stand. When creating the HP, using the hardware platform Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2. The laptop has 16 GB of RAM and a 512 GB SSD drive. The model supports 5G communication networks.
The front camera provides 720p images. Using the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform, it has been able to provide a long battery life. It, according to the manufacturer, is 24 hours and 30 minutes. The company has not yet announced details about the cost of the device and the timing of its appearance on sale.

A system that wants to be fluid and facilitates the transition from a classic configuration with the keyboard to a tablet mode with a stylus. Thus, the screen can be arranged in two ways: at the front of the PC for multimedia use – practical for watching a film or videos – or flat to handle the stylus more easily when using graphics applications. This stylus can also be recharged from a dedicated space on the keyboard.

The Elite Folio is powered by an original Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G, which, at first glance, does not seem much different from the Gen 1. This processor should deliver performance equivalent to some Intel Core i5s but with a low thermal envelope of 7 watts. HP is therefore moving towards an ARM chip; it follows the general trend in this, although the results are disappointing under Windows.
The experience is indeed still quite bad, and the performance is lagging. This new Snapdragon will probably not change the game, and Apple should remain untouchable when it comes to ARM chips for laptops. The low consumption of the 8cx Gen 2 processor promises good autonomy, announced at 24 h 30 by the manufacturer.

This HP laptop has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and an optional 4G module in terms of connectivity. Its edge accommodates two USB-C 3.2 ports, a combo mini-jack, and a slot for a nanoSIM card. The Elite Folio should be available very soon, at a price not yet communicated.
